(LONDON) Katten Muchin Rosenman UK LLP announced today that finance and banking attorney Peter Englund has joined the firm as counsel. Mr. Englund has advised on a wide range of banking and finance transactions with a focus on domestic and cross-border leveraged and acquisition finance, structured finance and restructurings.

"Peter is a great addition to Katten's finance team and part of our ongoing commitment to grow the firm's presence in London in the core areas of financial services, real estate and corporate," said Vincent A. F. Sergi, Katten chairman.

Mr. Englund's experience spans both large and mid-market leveraged transactions, representing sponsors, mandated lead arrangers and bank clubs, with a variety of capital structures including bank/bond deals. He has also advised a variety of stakeholders in large-scale restructurings and workouts, with a specific focus on acting for senior and mezzanine creditors and steering committees.

Mr. Englund has more than 10 years of experience in private practice and has held senior in-house positions through client secondments at Morgan Stanley and BP Plc. 

He is the sixth senior attorney to join Katten UK since Peter Sugden became managing partner in February 2012. The others include financial services attorney Tim Aron, tax attorney Sanjay Mehta, and real estate attorneys Stephen John, Ranjeev Kumar and Joe Payne.
