At Keble College at Oxford University's "Financial Services Regulatory Summer School," Financial Markets and Funds partners Carolyn Jackson and Neil Robson will both present on Wednesday, August 2.

At 2:00 p.m. BST, Carolyn will present "The Basics of Derivatives Practice and Regulation" session. Her presentation will:

  • analyze the processes of derivatives markets and the rules applicable to trading;
  • look at the European Markets Infrastructure Regulation (EMIR) in detail;
  • explore possibilities for a new UK EMIR post-Brexit; and
  • distinguish regulated derivatives from unregulated.

Following at 2:50 p.m., Neil will present "An Overview of Regulatory Issues in Funds," during which he will:

  • explore the varying pieces of regulation impacting funds;
  • provide an understanding the UK Undertakings for the Collective Investment in Transferable Securities (UCITS) regime – scope, what separates a UCITS fund from a non-UCITS fund, what the advantages are; and
  • analyze the regulation of non-UCITS funds — Alternative Investment Fund Managers Directive (AIFMD).
